Biography

E. David Ellington is Founder & Executive Chairman of Silicon Valley Blockchain Society, Inc. (SVBS) and General Partner in RevolutionDAO (RVLD), a private investment fund and hybrid distributed autonomous organization. Mr. Ellington is an entrepreneur, investor and advisor. He began his career as an Entertainment Lawyer in Los Angeles, California. He then moved to the SF Bay area and founded ‘NetNoir’, a community driven internet portal - a precursor to today’s social networks. He is currently Founding Managing Partner at Emory Capital Group (ECG), a family investment vehicle. He is also Senior Advisor at SpaceFund (VC-US) and Scientific and Industry Advisory Board Member at LUMO Labs (Largest private Artificial Intelligence ‘AI’ VC in Europe). Mr. Ellington was a Trustee and Commissioner on the San Francisco Employees' Retirement System (SFERS) Board (US$20B). At various times, Mr. Ellington served as Board President; Chair, Investments Committee, (Alternatives); Member, Investments Committee; Chair, Governance Committee; and member, Finance Committee. During his tenure, SFERS was a Limited Partner (LP) in 120 private equity, venture capital and distressed debt funds. Mr. Ellington was first appointed to the Board by San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown and then re-appointed to a second term by succeeding Mayor Gavin Newsom, now Governor of the State of California. During Mr. Ellington’s two (2) terms as a Trustee, SFERS ‘ALTERNATIVES’ (VC, PE, Distressed Debt, et al.) Portfolio Annualized Returns on US$1.5+B invested: 1 Year = 32.46%; 3 Years = 32.43%; and 5 Years = 25.00% (a matter of public record). Mr. Ellington has extensive international experience in Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, London, Dubai, Paris and India. He has circled the globe (gone around the world) ten (10) times with the longest tour being 20 months. Non-Profit activities included: Technology Advisory Board, US Conference of Mayors & the US National League of Cities; Charter Member, TiE-Silicon Valley; member, Business Executives for National Security (BENS); Board of Governors, Commonwealth Club of California; Board of Directors, San Francisco Jazz Organization (SFJAZZ). Civic activities included: Commissioner & President, Telecommunications Commission for the City and County of San Francisco; member, San Francisco Workforce Investment Board (WIB); member, United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security; White House Fellowship Regional Review Panelist.
